How the requested replacement levy amount was set
Battle Ground will have a proposition on the ballot for Feb. 10. If approved, the levy would provide funding that would affect every school in the district.
The district cannot collect more than the amount of money that voters approve. Property value increases and new residents do not generate more education and operations levy dollars for the district.
The requested amount was based on increasing student enrollment; widening state funding gaps; higher operating costs; lack of other funding sources; and increased use of the district’s reserves (savings account), which decreases financial stability. Learn more.
