Advanced Placement awards for Battle Ground students

Students from Battle Ground High School, CAM Academy and Prairie High School earned 160 Advanced Placement awards this year, with an average score of 3.72.

The Advanced Placement program gives high school students the opportunity to take college-level courses and demonstrate their knowledge through exams and other assessments. Scores range from 1 to 5, and qualifying scores may earn students college credit, placement into higher-level courses or both, depending on each college’s policies.

AP Scholars

This award recognizes students who score at least 3 on three or more AP exams.

  • Battle Ground High School: 20

  • CAM Academy: 24

  • Prairie High School: 30

AP Scholars with Honor

Students qualify by achieving an average of at least 3.25 across all AP exams taken and earning scores of at least 3 on four or more exams.

  • Battle Ground High School: 7

AP Scholar with Distinction

Students qualify by achieving an average of at least 3.5 across all AP exams taken and earning scores of at least 3 on five or more exams.

AP Capstone Diploma

The AP Capstone Diploma recognizes students who score at least 3 in both AP Seminar and AP Research, as well as on four additional AP exams. The two Capstone courses develop students’ research, collaboration and communication skills through projects, academic writing and presentations.

AP Seminar and Research Certificate

This certificate recognizes students who score at least 3 in both AP Seminar and AP Research.
