PSAT testing at BGHS on Jan. 26

Battle Ground Public Schools will offer students from each of our high schools the opportunity to take the Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test (PSAT) in person this winter.

  • Date: Tuesday, January 26, 2021
  • Time: 8:00 am – 12:00 pm PSAT
  • Place: Battle Ground High School – East Gym
  • Cost: $17

Registration opens Monday, December 7, 2020. The deadline for juniors to register is January 15, 2021. You may pay for the PSAT through TouchBase online payments. Your username is your student’s 7-digit ID number, and the password is your student’s last name (note that last name is case sensitive).  Please also be aware that new school IDs this year have omitted the “0” at the front of the number so you might need to enter it in front of your number to make your ID=7 digits when logging in.

Once you’re logged in:

  1. Select “Items at all Schools”
  2. Under School Type, select “High School”
  3. Choose either “Battle Ground High School” or “Prairie High School”
  4. Select “TESTING”
  5. Select “PSAT TEST”

A limited number of waivers are available to those who qualify for free or reduced lunch. If you think you qualify, please contact Barb Kujava at kujava.barbara@battlegroundps.org before registering.

Once you pay online through the above link, you are registered. Space is limited to 100 seats, so don’t wait to get registered.

Priority will be given to juniors for PSAT. If space is available, sophomores may take the PSAT. If you are a sophomore, please contact Paula DeLano at the District Office at (360) 885-5438 or by emailing delano.paula@battlegroundps.org. We will notify you on Monday, January 18 if space is available.

Within these priorities, preference will be given on a first-registered, first-served basis. There will be a waiting list as necessary. Health protocols will be in effect, including check in, temperature check, health attestation prior to testing, social distancing during testing, and masks are required.

Accommodations: If you have pre-arranged testing accommodations through the College Board, please notify Paula DeLano by calling (360) 885-5438 or by email at delano.paula@battlegroundps.org to make sure all accommodations can be properly administered.

Reminder: Parents, please make sure your contact information is updated through Family Access in Skyward. This is how we will communicate any and all test information to you.

While some colleges are placing less emphasis on taking these tests prior to admissions, both the SAT and PSAT can be important opportunities for many students. Some scholarships are attached to performance on these tests. In particular, the PSAT is required for the National Merit Scholars Program. We recommend you check the admissions requirements of any colleges you might be considering attending prior to making a final decision on taking the SAT/PSAT.
